stepped out of the airplane to the time you dropped us off at the hotel, you surpassed every
expectation I had about what backpacking into the canyon is supposed to be. You did a
superb job of balancing being a tour guide, geologist, friend (complete with the friendly
teasing), coach, health adviser, chef, and drill sergeant all wrapped up in one! Every detail
of our trip to the Grand Canyon was planned to perfection. I didn’t have to sweat a single

"My legs are nearly healed and the trail aches fade away, but the memories of the fabulous
trip will live on. My son, Ryan, and I could not have a better, more challenging and
rewarding experience in our introduction to the Canyon backpacking and canyoneering
than that which you all provided. From the time our guide punctually and politely picked us
up until he dropped us back at the motel, our experience was “mountain top” (despite being
in the Canyon)! The equipment provided was top notch, the food was filling, tasty, and
abundant (in fact we had to consciously avoid gaining weight despite the incessant exploring
and trekking)".
"Our guide's knowledge base and expertise as a guide, naturalist, raconteur and all around
pleasant affability was above and beyond my expectations. He knew that Ryan and I
wanted to see all that we could in our 4 days and he accommodated us wonderfully. The
day long trek to the Colorado was demanding, exhilarating and especially rewarding.
When our guide dropped us off, I felt as if we were leaving an old friend behind, feeling
hopeful that we would meet again soon".

"I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for Charles. He is a great guide! I am
impressed with his ability and desire to willingly take three people that have never hiked so
many miles in three days, much less in such unexpected weather conditions. Charles was
really calm and patient. I think that all of us really looked to him to gage whether we were
going to be OK – his confidence always made me feel that even when I was feeling low or
uncertain that I would be able to hike out – and now I know that I can definitely hike into and
out of the Grand Canyon in rain, snow and dry land! …. I will most likely do another
weekend hike in Arizona and will likely go through Just Roughin’ It and hope to have
Charles as my guide".

awesome trip. Thanks. I loved every minute of it!!! Yes, the weather sucked but what an
experience. Our guide was great and hopefully gave you a good report on me. He does
deserve a medal…. I am already thinking of what my next trip will be. I am hooked. If you

"I loved the tour! Aaron was great. I really appreciated that the pick-up location could be
changed to accommodate our last minute change in travel plans. I didn't think much about
what I was getting into, so I didn't really have any expectations to meet. The canyon was
beautiful and the hike to the reservation was a challenge, which I liked. The food was really
good. I can’t think of any criticism…the only negative is that I wish I was there longer. I’m
looking forward to doing a hike again next year".
