FOR THE ADVENTURER THAT LIKES IT
Olympic National Park backpacking from the North of the park to the South, or the South to the North. The trail is the Press Traverse. The Press Traverse hiking tour combines two trails that lead through the rain forests and is a great way to experience Olympic National Park while hiking Olympic. Just Roughin' It likes this Washington backpacking trail because it is less traveled, allowing to enjoy the amazing surroundings without being bothered.

Olympic: The Press Traverse Hiking Trip

What took James Christie and the Press Expedition five and a half months to accomplish will only take you 4-6 days of hiking at Olympic!  The 45 mile Press Traverse will have you backpacking from the north to south (or south to north) on Olympic National Park trails, traveling through virgin rain forest and along high alpine peaks and lakes to vast meadows of wildflowers.  Because you will be hiking through diverse Olympic ecosystems, you will encounter an array of flora and fauna like none other.  And since there are no roads traveling through the park, you will not encounter rubber necking tourists driving by!  It is just you and Mother Nature.
