Arizona Day Hikes

"Break on through to the other side." - The Doors

You might be surprised what you can do in just one day in Arizona: scale a mountain, overlook a sprawling cityscape or even venture into ancient ruins. The Southwest is ripe with adventure, and we've mapped it all out - from our backyards to the backwoods.

Day hiking provides a snapshot of some of Arizona's most sought-after destinations like the Grand Canyon or White Mountains. We can take you through the touristy hotspots or primitive trails known to few - but well worth the hike.

Our expert guides can help you select the perfect trip for you or your group - and we'll provide all the transportation, food and gear. Let us show you what's possible in just one day:

Grand Canyon Hiking Tours
Day hikes in and around Arizona's Grand Canyon provide snapshots of its splendor. There are tours for beginners and experienced hikers alike. Take a 3-mile hike to Cedar Ridge along the South Kaibab trail to get a feel for true canyon hiking. Or, add another 3 miles to get a glimpse of the Colorado River from Skeleton Point. Don't be fooled though, the river is still more than 2,800 vertical feet down!

Phoenix Day Hikes
The Phoenix area may be the fifth largest metropolitan area nationwide, but don't let the city image fool you. The sprawling cityscape is dotted with diverse mountains and ranges all but a few miles from "civilization."

Tucson Day Hikes
The Tucson area has some of Arizona's most beautiful desert backdrops, including the world's highest concentration of saguaro cactuses. Yet you'll find much more than desert here - the "Old Pueblo" is full of diversity from evergreen forests atop Mount Lemmon to the streams of Aravaipa Canyon.

Arizona Rim Country Day Hikes
Think Arizona is all deserts? Think again. Evergreen forests, natural creeks, herds of elk: that's Arizona's high country. An escape from the heat all but a few hours from Phoenix.

Lake Mead/Las Vegas, NV Day Hikes
Day hikes to Lake Mead in Arizona and Las Vegas are coming soon. Check back in late 2009 for more details.
