Arizona / Utah Adventure Backpacking Trips

"I got my gear in my pack, I got my pack on my back, today's the day I'm going camping." - John Denver

There's car camping, and then there's camping Just Roughin' It style. Take one of our backpacking tours and you'll rethink your definition of camping too. These adventures span multiple days throughout the wilderness of Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Arizona or Southern Utah. Backpack through Central Arizona's Superstition Mountains or Yosemite's famous Half Dome, among other scenic tours. The southwest has endless options. You can pretty much pick your landscape, climate and view.

Since we carry all our gear on our backs - we make our equipment as lightweight as possible. We provide you with top-of-the-line, lightweight backpacks that range from 20 to 30 pounds (9 to 14 kilograms), and we make sure no one carries more than 25% of his or her bodyweight. This includes the pack itself, tent, sleeping bag, mat, mess kit, eating supplies and your personal belongings.

You can also add a touch of class to most backpacking tours with add-ons like a hotel stay, private chef or even a private pilot. Take a look at our Custom Options.

And now to the adventures...

Grand Canyon
After one glimpse of Arizona's Grand Canyon landscape you'll understand why the park is known as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. We offer something for nearly everyone - from day hikes to seven-day backpacking tours throughout the inner canyon.
Yosemite
Yosemite National Park is the outdoor enthusiasts nirvana, best known for its towering waterfalls and soaring granite cliffs. Backpack the countless number of peaks that reach over 11,000 feet in elevation or the glacier carved meadows in Yosemite Valley or Tuolumne Meadows.
Arizona Rim Country
Arizona is more than desert lands. Imagine backpacking through the shade of Ponderosa Pines, or wading through crystal clear streams. You may even spot a herd of elk or deer along the trail. This is the side of Arizona you may not know - but should.
Phoenix/Central Arizona
Two of Arizona's landmark mountain ranges are a quick drive from the city. The Superstitions are known for legend, lore... and a lost gold mine! The Mazatzals mark the transition from desert to forest... and have some old mining adventures of their own.
Tucson/Southern Arizona
Southern Arizona has some of the state's most popular outdoor destinations. We can take you trekking through any of the Tucson area's many mountain ranges, collectively called the Sky Islands. There is much variety, from Mount Lemmon overlooking Tucson at 9,000 feet (2,743 meters) above sea level, to Aravaipa Canyon, a diverse desert land that's has had little human touch.
Southern Utah
Paria Canyon
Paria Canyon is famous for colorful slot canyons that cross Arizona and southern Utah. They are among the longest and deepest in the world. Experience a trekking tour right through these narrow gorges and around rare rock formations found only in this region.
