Phantom Ranch - Grand Canyon Hiking Trip
Phantom Ranch is one of the most sought-after destinations of Grand Canyon National Park.
Quaint cabins at the bottom of the Canyon house overnight visitors from around the globe. Staying here will lighten the load for backpackers since you won't need to carry any sleeping gear or tents.
Keep in mind that these dorms are booked up to 13 months in advance, so make your reservations early for this very popular trip. The barebones setup has bunk beds, bedding, a shower and restrooms - often considered a "luxury" for campers and backpackers.
The surrounding terrain is gorgeous and busy with fellow hikers. We will also treat you to one breakfast and one dinner at the Canteen, so you can get the full "Phantom Ranch" experience.
From the South Rim, we'll head down to Phantom Ranch along the South Kaibab Trail (7 miles/11.2 km). We'll stay one or two nights, with day hikes to explore neighboring areas and hanging around the famous Phantom Ranch Canteen, where travelers take breaks, chow down and swap stories. We'll hike back out the Bright Angel Trail, approximately 10 miles/16.1 km.
This adventure attracts backpackers of all experience levels from beginner to experienced - especially those who like to rest their heads above ground.
